The numbers

How we got these numbers.

Every dollar figure on this site comes from one example store, a few public sources and simple math. Here it all is, so you can check it.

Updated October 2026Example: 3 stores doing $43,000 a week each, the U.S. average

The example store

Every example on the site is the same owner: 3 stores, each selling $43,000 a week inside the store, not counting fuel. That is the average U.S. convenience store.

U.S. in-store sales divided by the number of U.S. convenience stores (NACS, 2026).

Owners with 10 stores or fewer run 95,672 of those stores, 63% of the industry. They are who Retello is built for.

What it adds up to

$139,102 a year for the example owner.

About $46,367 per store, or $381 a day: roughly 2.1% of inside sales. This is the estimator’s answer for the example store. Each line is an estimate built from industry averages, with its sources below. Your own number comes from your store’s data.

Delivery: $6,000 a month

We say stores like yours add $6,000 a month in delivery sales. That is about 10 app orders a day at roughly $20 each; orders through the delivery apps average about $18. It sits below the best programs we could find:

Delivery sales per store per month, by program
ProgramPer store, a month
7‑Eleven 7NOWOwn app and fleet. $550M in the first half of FY2026 across 7,594 stores.3≈ $12,070
Wesco, 57 storesVroom and DoorDash. “Over $100,000 per store per year.”5≈ $8,300
Our exampleAbout 10 app orders a day at roughly $20.$6,000
H&S Energy, about 156 sitesVroom. $1 to 2 million a year in total.6$530–$1,070

Retello prices every item for each app’s fee, so an app sale keeps the margin of a counter sale. We count about 30% of the new sales as profit, after picking and bags: $6,000 × 12 months × 30% ≈ $21,700 a year per store. 81% of delivery customers say they wouldn’t otherwise have driven to the store, so we treat these sales as new.

Text-program subscribers visit 44% more often than non-subscribers (Mobivity, 15 million subscribers), and convenience store loyalty members visit weekly 65% of the time against 46% for everyone else (ACSI, October 2026). Both are correlations, so we use a much smaller number.

Coca‑Cola $1,840 and Altria $213, paid back for deals customers used. Brands already pay stores for this: cigarette makers alone paid retailers $5.74 billion in price discounts in 2022 (FTC). Skupos says its retailers average “$504+ per month” from tobacco programs and brand promotions.

Capital: rates as of October 2026

Retello isn’t a lender. It shops an owner’s loan across lenders and connects them with the one that fits. The rates on the site are examples, set against the market in October 2026.

“Back to you” is the difference in total payments over the life of the loan, with equal monthly payments. Every rate sits inside the market: the prime rate is 7.00% (after the September 16, 2026 increase), SBA 504 loans priced at an effective 6.97% (October 8 sale), SBA 7(a) rates are capped at 10 to 13% depending on size, and business term loans typically run 10 to 27%.
